Welcome, Traveler.

Sheltered from the ocean by a line of Cashirina trees, our rustic schoolhouse is traditionally used as a gathering space, but easily sleeps a dozen, dormitory style.

Mosquito netting, candles and flashlighs, bug repellent and mosquito coils, pillows, ground pads/  foam mattresses, bedding, and towels provided at  each location.

Hermit Bus.

A new meaning for “recycling!” This 64-passenger converted bus features queen size bed, small writing desk, and room for luggage or projects. As cozy as a hermit crab in it’s shell!  Views of the ocean and bush.

Studio Loft.

For the dedicated artist, sleep above the Chickee Studio in the Artist’s Loft. The Chickee hut is simply a thatch roof,  pine floor, and mosquito net walls. A double bed (or two singles) and small personal space accessible only by ladder offers the simplest of rustic shelters. Sleeps a few. Strictly Non-smoking.

Cabins.

1/2 Mile down the beach, Forfar Field Station is a marine biology educational center offering cabins as they are available. Each duplexed cabin features  three bunk- beds (sleeps six) and a small desk and storage space. Shared bathroom at rear includes hot shower, sink, and flush toilets.  Electric lighting, outlets, and neighbors are also featured.

Additional fees do apply, call for availability and rates .

Beach Camping.

For those who prefer more traditional camping, MAIC offers tents. Choose your favorite bit of beach or bush for shade, sun, breeze, or views.  Ten four-man tents available.

Deck Camping.

The new Sea Grape Deck (“Grounds” Link) is a less buggy, more breezy camping option for the height of the summer months.  Great views; very clean.

Fits five standard tents.
